Beginning on the New Santa Fe Regional Trail, turn east up the wide sidewalk paralleling Costco. Continue on the concrete path up through the Trader Joe's Parking lot, and turn right up the wide ramp. After crossing one entrance to University Village, bear right down the path behind the Hacienda, then turn left under N. Nevada Ave. On the other side, climb the hill to the left, bearing right at the fork. Continue on this route all the way up the valley. The path turns to smooth gravel soon after the bridge.
