One Way Only: This is designated as a directional trail.

Overview

Leaving Carter Park on nice climbing trails, through the Wellington Bike Park, topping out just above the feature filled trails above Carter Park. Then a short loop behind the Ice Rink on technical trails.

Description

Choose to start with either the steep Carter Park Switchback or the stone staircase. At the ditch trail (Hermit Placer) go left and continue over a wooden bridge. In another hundred yards look on the right for a connector trail that brings you to a road, where you go left. At the stop sign go straightish onto Leisel's Luge. As it passes the gate at the top of the bike park duck in and take a lap. Exit the bike park back onto the trail, across the road, and onto Wellington Trail. When it gets into the open rocky area go right up Red Pig. Pass the "uphill only" trail, then go right on Barney Ford downhill. Cross the road and choose B-Line or Barney Flow. At the ditch choose to go down the Carter Switchback or left along the ditch, then down Jack's Cruel Joke and Sunbeam Trail to Carter Park.

Leave the south side of Carter Park on Sunbeam Trail. Continue until in ends and you go right on a road, then across the street into the Ice Rink parking lot. In back, left corner of the lot cross a bridge to start the trail. Stay straight-ish, leftish onto the initial steep climb. Hard left onto the next trail to continue climbing. The climb ends in a ditch trail, then take a hard right on Southside Trail to loop back along the highway to the Ice Rink. The trail rolls and crosses a driveway. At the bottom of the downhill the trail turns right and follows the stream to the bridge where you started.
