Need to Know

Trail is being maintained somewhat better, though it's still very narrow and still a bit overgrown in a few places so check your speed accordingly. This trail is USFS in the San Isabel NF and their non-motorized rules apply, so e-bikes are not authorized.

Description

Great views of the Sangre de Cristo range and Cuchara Mountain Park as you climb from the lot and keep climbing. Tight switchbacks and chunky sections await, plus some fresh cut trail with stumps.

You'll finally summit close to three miles in, take a short descent down switchbacks to the neighborhood, and then turn around for the fun part.

After climbing back up the switchback pile, you get nearly 1k descent in under three miles.
