There are public toilets at the picnic shelter. Trail direction flips each month.

At the end of the parking lot take the trail connector to the top of a short climb where a sign will tell you which direction is currently for bikers/hikers. Each takes an opposing direction which alternates each month.

Clockwise, the trail starts climbing gently, continuing to get steeper for a time before dropping into some stream crossings, finishing with a fast downhill to the trailhead.

Anti-clockwise it starts with a tough, sapping climb followed by a mix and a longer but less steep downhill to finish. The trail flows nicely both ways and is has plenty to challenge the beginner or works well as a warm-up lap before climbing the road to the bigger trails on the mountain.
