Need to Know

Ocmulgee Flats Campground is a good place to part on the west side of FS 1099.

Description

FS 1099 is a horseshoe gravel road beginning and ending at GA Hwy 83. It's useful for cyclists and hikers because it serves as a good connector for all of the trails in the area, both inside and outside of the "U".

In about 2015, pine beetles devastated the pines in the area inside the "U" of FS 1099, taking some of the trails in that area with them. But there are still some fun trails in the area and 1099 connects them all together.
