Overview

A moderate difficulty trail that starts climbing from the parking lot. At the top, the views are nice. Coming down, it is mildly narrow (but still doubletrack) and moderately steep. This, unlike other trails, can be done from either direction - Sunol to Foothill Parking Lot or vice versa (but I recommend the Foothill Parking Lot to Sunol better).

Need to Know

Near downtown Sunol - can be biked one direction and then picked up.

Description

Park at the Foothill Staging Area and take the Oak Tree Trail up. Then, follow along the ridge with the Ridgeline Trail. After this, turn and take the Thermalito Trail down and enjoy nice views on doubletrack. This can take from 30 minutes to 1-2 hours based on experience.
