Overview
A great loop ride through the Slaughter Pens! This is a great ride for beginners looking for a longer loop or someone looking to get in everything from technical challenges to big jumps! This loop flows due to the balanced distribution of climbs, technical, and flowing sections.
Need to Know
Parking is available at Compton Gardens on Main Street, at Northeast A Street and Northeast Cub Circle, and at the city's Bark Park on North Walton Boulevard.
Description
Begin at Compton Gardens
All-American trailhead. Eventually, pick up at
Ozone and ride to
Red Barn and
Tristan's Trail. Exit onto the paved trail that parallels Walton Blvd and passes the dog park. Cut left at the trail maps just after you exit the tunnel and pick up
Armadillo's Last Stand.
Heads up for the technical root/tree crux!
Exit
Armadillo's Last Stand when you get to the jump park - it's hard to miss! Enjoy the three [roll-able] jumps, a sick berm, and a final jump that leads straight to the teeter-totter that is a beginner's dream feature for learning to do drops!
Enjoy the journey back south containing one final climb on Burns Trail that drops you off on D Street for a cool-down ride back to Compton Gardens.
