Access to the upper (southwest) end is via a gate on Ohanneson Road that is only open daylight hours (egress is possible anytime).

Description

A fire road that has degraded pavement in parts if I recall correctly, it is generally not too steep except for a couple relatively short stretches. Makes it a good place for newer riders to have fun with climbing and descending skills separate from technical challenges.

Connects to Campus Drive at the upper end, which is one of the stranger roads in the East Bay. Just a single row of houses on either side for most of its length along the crest of a sharp ridge.

I am searching for a route on the western face of this ridge. I think Leona Heights Park will be the answer but the first trail I tried there was almost completely hike-a-bike, and even that was barely possible.
