This is a one way route—a grunt of a climb from the sea to the mountain to access the better riding up on top of the mountain.
It starts with a set of switchbacks off the main road just before the main square in Portofino. Much of the climb is on paved surface. There is a viewpoint with a picnic table 1.6 km (1 mi) up that serves as a well deserved break point and after this the route becomes gravel. The route ends near the historical mill/restaurante "la mullina del gassetta".
