You'll need $5 (2018) or a State Parks Pass for parking.

Description

This is the easier of two routes leading from the very touristy, German-themed village of Helen into the center of Smithgall Woods State Park. There are a couple of wildlife openings/viewing areas along the trail, in which I saw some turkeys. You'll need to ford Dukes Creek just before you reach Tsalaki Trail. Other than that, this is an unremarkable forest road.

There is no vehicular traffic allowed on any of the roads in the park.
