Description

Starting at the gravel fire road portion of Bucktail Trail Road, the German Wilson Trail climbs sharply towards the ridge to the east of Halfmoon Mountain. The trail is initially non-technical, but very steep, as it cuts across the lower slopes of the gully.

About halfway up, it turns slightly to the right and heads straight up the drainage, becoming virtually unrideable due to the pitch and amount of exposed rocks. Near the top, the trail flattens slightly before intersecting with the ridge along Halfmoon Lookout Trail. Take the right towards the lookout, or left towards Tuscarora - Sugar Knob Segment.

If ridden heading north, this trail is an off-the-back-of-the-seat bomber.
