Description

This trail drops down out of the woods, then along the bank of Walnut Creek. There is also an optional rock skinny. The overhang and fallen rocks are layered with millions of years of sedimentary rocks, with fossilized clam shells and other prehistoric marine life when Texas was under a shallow ocean that stretched from the Gulf of Mexico to the Arctic Ocean.

In the Gnar-Wall Trail near the creek crossing is this Ammonite fossil. Ammonites were squid like creatures that lived in the seas 200-65 million years ago, during the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods
