Description

This two-way trail is fun in either direction - a little hard work in places when climbing up, but one of the best 'flow' trails in the park in the downhill direction, and would make a nice out and back in this direction - note there is a picnic bench at the saddle view point where this trail joins Bald Peaks Trail if you're short on time and want a workout followed by an entertaining a varied coast downhill to finish.

The higher elevation is a relatively narrow singletrack through the trees, with some quite tight switchback corners, while the mid portion is more level and follows a wider terrace trail with less tree cover and some more technical features - dry creek crossings and one longer rocky downhill/uphill portion approximately halfway between the junction with Mayfair Ranch Trail and the junction with Catamount Trail.

The lower elevation is on a wide fire road to/from the parking lot on Casa Loma Road along the bottom of the canyon... so a little bit of everything!

Nice trail, not too technical, couple steep sections, slow and steady makes it to the bench. 6mi
