Description

This trail is generally done in the downhill direction starting from the top of the climb where it intersects with the Glen Meann land rover track. There's a large rock cairn that marks the beginning of the descent. The 2,211 foot Meall Cala summit lies to the east of this trail. The descent is pretty steep on a rocky doubletrack and it generally follows the Finglas Water.

You'll enjoy a great view of the Glen Finglas reservoir on the way down if you can redirect your concentration from surfing all the rocks scattered through the descent. At 2.3 miles, you'll cross the Finglas Water (you've got the option to ford the creek or use the bridge). Shortly thereafter, the steep descending is over and the doubletrack becomes less rocky and more established. The track then follows the north side of the Glen Finglas Reservoir before reaching the three-way intersection with Glen Meann and Glen Finglas Reservoir Road.
