Description

For what it is, this is a great route. Pumpkin Hollow Road is part of the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway, a 90+ mile partially off-road driving route in the Red River Gorge region. This road is a county road and is drivable in a vehicle with decent clearance. For mountain bikes, its a blast!

From the south (Powell County side), take the paved Cane Creek Road to Pumpkin Hollow Road and follow it until the pavement runs out. Bear right and keep going past a cabin and deeper into the woods. You'll come out on the Menifee County side on KY 713. If you go right, you can pick up Spaas Creek Road and Hatton Ridge Road for more riding options.

There is no good public parking near Pumpkin Hollow Road so you should plan on riding in from somewhere else in the area.

The southern portion of this road is paved but not much wider than a multi-use trail.
