A 3-mile climb from Manitou through Rattlesnake Gulch.

Features -none-

Description

The trail begins as singletrack at the east end of the parking lot for the Manitou Incline/ Barr Trail. It winds behind some condominiums then turns north to climb parallel to the canyon.

The first hill is steep, sandy, and loose, but short. It climbs up Rattlesnake Gulch along the old Ute Indian trail. Ute Indians used this path to make pilgrimages to the sacred springs of Manitou and Garden of the Gods.

The singletrack continues until the top of the first climb, after which the trail becomes doubletrack, and winds through pine and scrub oak trees.

This path continues on with a few more climbs, but nothing terrible, to meet Longs Ranch Road.
