From the main parking lot at the Pickens Recreation Center, follow the large paved trail off to the right. About a quarter mile down, look off to the left for the obvious trail entrance/exit.

The trail will enter the wooded area and cross over a small bridge. After traversing some flat terrain, the trail will turn left and drop quickly, descending down to the bank of the river. The trail will then follow the river for about a half-mile where you'll begin the climb back out, once again intersecting the large paved trail.
