Description

Speedway is an intro loop that connects the trailhead to all the other trails in the park. Look for the entrance next to the kiosk by the Highbridge Pumptrack. Take a left and swoop around the off-camber roots and into the reforestation site. Pump over some rock rollers and look for an optional log-roll to the left, ride around on the right. Afterward, downshift for the first climb.

After passing behind the Ft. George Playground, the trail heads to the right into the future gravity skills area. A series of swooping berms brings the trail to the big junction with Wonderwall and Hellfighter. Berm to the left and then to the right to keep on Speedway for some good views of the Bronx and the nearby dropping slope. Get ready to downshift for the second climb that will lead pass Rough Rider before the trail swoops back to end where it started.

The trails and dirt jumps at Highbridge Park are maintained by the NYCMTB. They are looking for volunteers to help build and maintain trails during regular weekly trail days throughout 2017 and beyond. To find out more and get involved, click here.
