Description

This trail is best ridden top to bottom (the technical section about halfway is a difficult climb due to loose rocks and 10"+ ledges). Descending this section is a blast, however it is wide and thus has a few route options-- some easier than others. You may wish to walk it your first time and scope out a line.

Paradise Rim is best accessed by the Chuckwalla Trail or the Halfway Wash Trail and may easily be looped it with an ascent of the Turtle Wall Trail (a moderately challenging slick-rock climb). It has slick-rock, a short sand section, and is all singletrack. There are some beautiful desert flowers to see while riding this one with bright pinks, reds, and yellows. Expect to see some great scenery at the top, which overlooks the Entrada area of Santa Clara. The entire trail is exposed to the sun, so plan accordingly.

Lastly, this trail system is very popular with hikers, climbers and dog-walkers. Be kind and share the trail! Remember that bikers yield to everyone else.
