The Rich Mountain Trail makes for a fun downhill addition to Earthquake Ridge Trail.

There is no parking near the Round Top trailhead so you'll have to park at one of the vista's or at the visitor center at Earthquake Ridge.

Description

The Rich Mountain Trail connects Earthquake Ridge to the Ouachita National Recreation Trail - IMBA Epic located on the top of Rich Mountain via Skyline Drive (HY88). I have yet to ride the entire trail and what is shown here is from Round Top. After Round Top, heading up the mountain, the trail gets very little traffic and hardly no maintenance if any at all.

We normally ride up Skyline Drive to Round Top from Earthquake Ridge Trail and then ride the trail back down. It is mostly downhill but there are a few little climbs in there. From a technical standpoint, other then the occasional rock garden, this trail is not bad. It makes for a great addition when riding Earthquake Ridge.
