Description
This singletrack trail contours the mountain, but has many short, steep climbs, descents, and also some eroded and rocky sections. It is in mostly brassy vegetation as opposed to forest and will get hot on summer afternoons.
There are great views of Prescott and the surrounding mountains. This trail connects P-Mountain (or Badger Mountain) Trail and the
Boy Scout Trail #126. It is a part of the
Prescott Circle Trail, although there is a plan to have the PCT stay higher on the mountain any bypass the Boy Scout and Turley Trails.
Did I mention that there are a LOT of steep climbs and descents on this trail?
Directions to Turley Trail Trailhead
Drive east on Gurley Street and take the last turn off the eastern end of Gurley Street onto Overland Road.
Take the first left onto Butterfield Road.
From the intersection of Overland and Butterfield, drive 0.5 miles to Wells Fargo Road and turn right (note that Wells Fargo has two entrances off Butterfield; these directions are from the first entrance).
At the highest point of Wells Fargo Road, a small white sign on the right points to the Turley Trail access road between two homes. Drive up the short dirt road to the small parking area.
Please close the gate as the sign requests.
