Family Friendly Easy grades on the climbs paired with a lack of obstacles make this trail one of the least intimidating trails in the area. It is truly a beginner trail full of flow and fun.

Description

Paw Paw is the entrance to the trail system at Turkey Run Park. A wide trail tread and a minimal amount of roots and rocks make this an ideal trail for families and new riders. The trail surface itself is very smooth dirt and there aren't really any obstacles. Climbs are easier than most trails in this area and you are rewarded with some nice downhills. The trail winds in and out through the hills as you are treated with great views atop the ridgelines.

Make sure to notice the Paw Paw trees for which the trail is named after. The Paw Paw tree produces a tropical like fruit that is a cross between a banana and a mango.

Be prepared to come across several creeks on your journey including the beautiful Turkey Run Creek which feeds into Floyd's Fork. You can connect to the Chinkapin Trail from Paw Paw to increase your ride distance. The trail flows well in both directions. This is just the start of an amazing trail system that is under construction as of fall 2015. Stay tuned for more!

Access from the Brown Forman Silo Center parking lot: Head North on the Louisville Loop and the entrance to Paw Paw Trail will be on your right in about 1000 ft.

Access from Sky Meadows/Boulder Pond parking lot: follow the Boulder Pond/Sky Dome gravel path and you'll run into the North entrance of Paw Paw.

Access from Seatonville Rd. Entrance: Best used as overflow lot or to experience the Louisville Loop through Turkey Run and add some mileage. Park at the first parking lot on the right. Take Louisville Loop south for about three miles. Entrance to the Paw Paw Trail will be on your left about 1000 ft. before Silo Center.
