Overview [Suggest Changes]

This trail is all singletrack with lots of speed and some challenging hills. Many racers train here and its location makes this trail a great "after work" ride for anyone.

Dogs: Leashed

Need to Know [Suggest Changes]

Park at the playground. There are trails heading out from either side of the road from there. All trails will lead back to this area, so it's hard to get lost.

Description [Suggest Changes]

A favorite loop of this trail is to start at the playground and head up the "radio tower" trail which is just north and on the same side of the road as the parking lot. This will take you to the front of the park where you'll cross the road and head up a steep climb known as "Montana Mountain".

From there, as you continue, stay left at each (marked) trail fork to couple all the (~7.5 mile) trail segments together and you'll eventually make a loop. Otherwise, If you get tired, take any of the trail forks right which will bring you out across from the playground.

This trail is not technically challenging, but is VERY fast, and has a fair share of climbing, which makes it a workout.

Waverly Park is also a popular night riding destination.

This trail is great for endurance training. Many climbs, twists & turns, & fast flows. A few technical areas with roots & rocks obstacles. 6.5mi — 1h 38m

So much fun! Fast but it didn't flow very well. Good mix of climbs and descents. Conditions were wet but only a few sections were muddy

The signs are misleading. The park is technically closed at dusk, but nightriding (and apparently fishing) are allowed. Apr 14, 2016
Rode yesterday and still love this singletrack. Flowy, well maintained 6 mile course with lots of cutoffs to shorten or lengthen the ride. Parking is easy and central. Best place in Louisville. Nov 18, 2016
