Family Friendly Close to town, easy access, a fun trail in the redwoods.

Rain in winter could keep you from making the creek crossing. Bikes are only allowed on Aptos Creek Fire Road, Aptos Rancho Trail, Split Stuff Trail, Terrace Trail, and Vienna Woods Trail.

Description

While this trail is very fun on low traffic days, I wouldn't recommend it on the weekends because of foot traffic. This trail cruises along the Aptos Creek and offers some stunning natural views. Enjoy riding under the thick redwood canopy just miles from the ocean. Easy access to park and to the Aptos Creek Fire Road to make your ride even bigger.

There is one mandatory creek crossing without a bridge, just before the trail crosses to Soquel Ave. side of the forest (depending on the direction you are heading, you'll not have to cross the creek off bike).

Remember this trail is in the front of the park and shares access with LOTS of hikers, joggers, and the occasional equestrian so PLEASE watch your speed.
