Description
Starting right around 11,000', drops over 1,000' with views throughout. This non-stop, high altitude thrill ride is mostly above treeline and should not be missed.
The trail itself is a series of long, well-built switchbacks with a few interspersed rock gardens thrown in. Although well planned, the trail does get very loose, especially around the corners and after months without precipitation...
Be sure to stop every now and again just to take in the views. The Minarets are stunningly beautiful from this vantage.
From the bottom of the trail, there are several options to ride down to the Main Lodge. The easiest route is to turn right onto the 2-way section of
Beach Cruiser, go left onto the
Beach Cruiser Shortcut, then follow
Mountain View down to the lower
Beach Cruiser which returns to the Main Lodge. Another option is to follow
Beach Cruiser to the left down past Red's Lake all the way to the Main Lodge. YouTube videos usually show the
White Bark and
Richter route.
