Little Corporal begins on the west side of Gold Run Road near the west end of Preston Way, climbing steadily through a clearcut, then entering a new section of switchbacking singletrack to the top of Gold Run Road at the top of Slalom.

The newly completed reroute bypasses most of the climb up Gold Run Road from the end of the Upper Flume Trail to Slalom. From the top, Fall Classic Trail, Western Sky and Hard Luck Trail are all alternatives to Slalom.
