This trail isn't for the faint of heart. There are a few very technical climbs that need higher level riding skills. Many of the climbs are very steep and rooted or rocky (or both). It can be difficult to keep the front tire on the ground while simultaneously navigating the terrain.
There is no shortage of excellent downhills either which also have their fair share of rock gardens. This trail has sections that ride directly along the lake, but don't expect it to be easy just because it's at water level. The trail frequently turns back into the hills and has some massive roots to work over. There are plenty of smoother sections along Wilkin's Way that give you a break.
Almost all of the trail is under fairly thick tree cover, but areas by the lake do offer some fantastic views.
To make this trail a full loop you'll need to use part of Jungle Trail and Luke's Loop
. Expect to ride about five miles if starting from the upper parking lot.
