You can either pick up the Drop Off after finishing Mesa Top Trail #714
, or you can drive to the Flowing Park parking lot and hit the Drop Off from there. Plan ahead, because Drop Off is hard enough going down. Coming back up is carry-your-bike-stuff. A shuttle is probably best.
According to USFS, this trail is typically only trafficked during hunting season. The USFS map shows it is approved for motorcycles but not ATVs. So you could potentially run into a "BRAAP" or two.
A friend of mine rode it in late July and described it as "steep and seriously overgrown with lots of erosion. Lots of opportunity to break both bike and body." So, best to ride with a buddy.
Local mountain bikers have been trying for a while to find a route from the trails on top of the mesa that would take us all the way down to Delta, basically creating a 25-35 mile downhill run. Connecting Mesa Top Trail #714
to Drop Off to West Pipeline does that, but it's all pretty hairy after Mesa Top Trail #714
This is why I rated it only "okay". With some trail attention, it could earn another star or two.
