Description

This loop can be accessed at the junction where the Wagon Wheel Loop meets up with the Divide Access Trail. This is a short but relatively challenging loop of singletrack that can be slick and rocky in spots. You can also access the 80 Mountain Summit from this trail; however, the Summit is generally for hiking and would make for a very challenging climb.

For a longer ride, the Mountain Loop is often ridden as one component of the larger trail system. It is also a nice way to end a long grind on the Continental Divide Trail: Walnut Creek Road trail, as the Divide Access Trail can be used to access the Mountain Loop, which can be ridden on the way back down to the Gomez Peak Parking Area. These trails are well marked with placards at several points along the trail and at major trail intersections.
