Description [Suggest Changes]

Willow Trail starts from the parking lot off Laguna Canyon Road. The trail climbs quickly up the side of the canyon. In fact, you gain over 580 feet within a mile and a half. There's not much time to warm up as the trail goes from benign to steep in the blink of an eye and hardly lets up.

Even after you power through the steepest section at the beginning, the trail keeps you huffing and puffing virtually all the way to Bommer Ridge. There are some mildly interesting views of the canyon. Fun coming down, watch for blind turns.

This parking lot fills up quickly on weekends. I've seen the park ranger shutting the lot gate at closing time with cars still in the parking lot, so make sure you're out at the posted closing time. People have been towed parking on Laguna Canyon Road.

Busy fire road and easy descent. I did just fine on a cyclocross bike. Nov 16, 2016
