Description

Also known as "Chain Reaction," this trail takes off into the trees from the upper part of the Sage Draw loop, climbs through sagebrush and fields of wildflowers (late spring/early summer) along the canyon wall. As you ascend higher the sagebrush fades into pine forests. There are sweeping views of Sinks Canyon and the Popo Agie River. This is a sustained climb with a few small technical sections and some steep spots. It gets a bit mellower toward The Catalyst intersection (a now closed trail). Equally as fun to ride down, Chain Reaction provides a nice view of Wind River peak, the highest peak in the Southern Wind River Mountains.

This trail can be ridden as a short loop by taking the To First Switchback cut off and enjoying the rocky and technical downhill. Some riders do Chain Reaction out-and-back as the ascent and descent are so different. Lots of options so pick your poison. The bottom portion of Brewer's, util the intersection with the First Switchback, is solid intermediate and the upper portion leans more advanced due to steep climbs and a few technical spots.

This trail is popular with hikers, runners, and bikers. Be mindful of others as you enjoy your ride.
