Caution: this is also a popular hiking trail.

Description

The Waterfall trail has at long last made it onto the official maps of bike trails at Lake Guntersville State Park. By this description, the trail begins at the junction with Golf Course Loop and the Nature Trail which becomes Butler Pass Trail. There is at first a more gentle section before the plummet begins. Watch out for the rock gardens during some of the steepest parts of the descent.

After Waterfall comes a rooty creek crossing, before the trail starts to level out a little more, it ends at the parking area where the Moonshine Trail begins. This trail makes a great gravity descent, and is slightly less dicey when the leaves aren't covering the rocks. It is also potentially doable uphill if you're a workhorse.

The Golf Course Loop branches off here. The intersection isn't marked, but a right turn will take you up to the Lodge.
