Overview

This is the course for the Alabama NICA February 23, 2020 race.

Description

Alabama's NICA teams will conduct their time trial at the Black Creek Trail at Noccalula Falls in Gadsden, Alabama. Black Creek has 15 trails and connectors used for multiple purposes including mountain biking. The trails include a lot of singletrack with fun downhill portions (offset, in part, by equivalent climbs). This GPS track is for the time trial, not the entire facility. I can heartily recommend Black Creek for a fun day of riding. And, grab a delicious Mater's Pizza (cheese, extra sauce) before leaving Gadsden.

Small creek crossing on the green trail. This crossing was hand built with nearby rock and gravel to give a smooth path across the wet weather branch.

One of several rock gardens to ride across with a visible alternate line beside it.

First creek crossing, the boulders and tree roots make for a challenging and narrow line to pick. Creek may be deeper and impassable after a hard rain, use caution.

This is a view look at the third creek crossing. On the other side if you continue to the right is the yellow trail. If you take a left you'll be starting the moonshine ridge trail and from that point you'll have a short and steep climb.
