Overview

This network of trails is a great ride in north Phoenix. It has some cool vantage points, and is mostly intermediate in difficulty. There are a few sections requiring a high level of balance and skill due to the many rocks present and steep, sharp turns.

Description

From the eastern parking lot of Deem Hills park, ride up the "water tower" road to Palisade Trail. Climb to the intersection of the upper trails and access Ridgeline Trail, which is the steepest and most technical trail in the park. After Ridgeline Trail, head back up Basalt Trail to Palisade Trail and cruise back down. The views are great, and the trail is fast with some areas of technical turns and switchbacks.
