Description

The H1 Coachwhip trail is a nice cruiser trail just north of the 101 in Glendale. There are a number of great climbs and cruiser sections. There are a couple switchback areas and a very technical rock garden. These sections make the ride very fun, but are not for novices. There are a couple great viewpoints over looking Glendale and Phoenix.

Drawbacks: The trail is not very well maintained and eroded areas can be rocky and bumpy. This is also a popular hiking spot so there can be trail traffic.

Short loop to Sunrise had doable climbs but loose gravel slowed down ascents and descents. Tough in the heat, good workout when it's not too hot.

Did thus trail starting east at 51st. As a true beginner, this is by no means and easy trail. Pretty much hike a bike for 2 of the first 3 miles. O…

Did just half the trail, did not give myself enough time. Great trail, a LOT of rocks. Give yourself couple hours to complete full trail. 6.6mi — 1h 30m
