To access Cruel and Unusual, follow the main access fire road down from either chairlift toward
Double Jeopardy.
The trail quickly enters the woods and you'll find yourself flowing through a series of sculpted dirt berms. After a sharper left-hand berm, you'll encounter the first wooden berm. There is no drop-off from this built feature, but get ready for the features to get bigger and more technical as you go.
After tearing through a few more dirt corners, you'll come to a right-hand wooden berm that ends with about a three-food drop and a gap that must be cleared. The next feature is a gap jump with a nice wooden run-in and takeoff. This feature could be rolled but it's best hit with speed and cleared to the dirt.
Flow out of the jump and immediately into a long, nearly 180 degree banked wooden berm. After another right-hand dirt berm, get ready for a sizable dirt-to-dirt gap jump. There is a ride around here but it would all but kill your speed to take that option.
The next feature is similar to the previous left-hand wooden bank except that it has a lip near the end that launches the rider over a gap and back onto the dirt. If you liked that gap, then you'll love the next dirt-to-dirt jump. There's not much room to come up short here, this jump requires full commitment!
Once (or if!) you've cleared that jump, get ready for a series of four dirt gap jumps followed by a step-up. At this point Cruel and Unusual flows quickly through the trees, featuring a few last berms and whoops before reaching its terminus toward the bottom of
Double Jeopardy.
