Need to Know
This trail is fast and fun, but please watch out for uphill trail users, especially in the fall. Expect a crowded trail and potential conflicts between users - visiting on a weekday morning or late afternoon is recommended for a quieter experience. Consider alternative access points or starting the hike from a different lot, like the Breckenridge Ice Rink
If you are looking for a longer ride from town that includes this trail, please check out
Baker's Tank and Aspen Alley loop from Breckenridge.
Description
From the Boreas Pass winter trailhead, go south past the gate and look for a singletrack on the west side of the road. The trail has been recently (2014) realigned and features numerous flowy berms through a beautiful aspen grove.
The trail terminates at a gravel driveway on the lower section of
Boreas Pass Road (paved). If you would like to return to your car without riding other singletrack, take a right on the driveway back to
Boreas Pass Road and climb back to the trailhead. Utilize Illinois Gulch Road to short-cut the climb back to the trailhead.
This trail is fast and fun but please watch out for uphill trail users.
