Update

A steep, dirt road in the north, and a nice, partially tree-covered doubletrack to the south.

Overview

Description

This trail is tricky to assign a difficulty level because it has two completely different sections: intermediate level, super steep at the top, and easy level, not steep at all near the bottom.

Starting from the south end, at the intersection of El Moro Canyon and Slow 'N Easy, Elevator starts as an easy climb on a doubletrack that's partially tree-covered. Then, about a half-mile up the canyon, the trail splits. If you go left, the dirt road begins twisting steeply up to meet Slow 'N Easy again. It averages 10-12% grade along this stretch so have your climbing shoes on.

If you go right, be prepared to hike, because it averages 15-20% up to Bommer Ridge.
