“Turkey Mountain is a hidden mountain bike paradise in Tulsa that has something for everyone!”
— Brian Mayfield
Start off at the lower parking lot trailhead. Follow the trail markers for the Blue and Yellow trails. The start is on a fast soft dirt section that turns a corner into the trees. From there, the trail heads south through a dirt section with the occasional root bed. The trail turns back to the north and runs along the Arkansas River. Fun, fast sections follow, and rock beds become more prevalent.
The trail rolls on for another mile of fast trail cluttered with sections of exposed rock bed. The trail then cuts back to an incline back south. You are now headed back to the top of Turkey Mtn. This section offers everything from soft sand to challenging up-hill roadbeds.
Once at the top, the trail turns to the west, and you begin your descent. There are several descent options. Some are advanced rock sections and others are more subtle. They all lead down to the lower Yellow where you started. Follow the blue and yellow markers back to the parking lot.
WATCH FOR PEOPLE! Hikers are prevalent on the Yellow Trail and with some speed, you may sneak up on them. During the week there is not much problem.
