Overview
Purpose built singletrack - the best riding in the Ottawa Valley. This is a longer loop of the Forest Lea system. It's rolling terrain with some smooth cruising and tight technical. It's rocky and rooty like all Forest Lea Trails.
All intersections are signed - the route follows red arrows. Map at TH or at forestleatrails.blogspot.com
Description
There's a parking area at the West end of Forest Lea Rd (between Petawawa and Pembroke). The trail starts to right of ski club at the top of the parking lot. Follow Red arrows to connect the best sections of Forest Lea trails: climb a ski trail to get into a pine forest for smooth high speed turns, followed by the rock drops and tight lines of Deer Run. Bridges cross the beaver dams into more pine high speed riding.
Climb up to Fence Line and then great XC DH down Open Air (you can cut out here to add on the Back Loops for another 10k of harder riding!). Maple Syrups are many people's favorite, but don't miss Flat Pass and Jolly Roger as a downhill blast to the parking area. This loop forms the heart of the Forest Lea system and the Forest Lea Enduro event held every September.
