A very pleasant stroll in the park on this paved road that's closed to cars.

Description

This trail is necessary for getting up to the real mountain biking in the area.

West and north of the parking area on Windsor Ave, across the open area, is JPL, the famous home of US space/military propulsion technology. However, for the bike trail, slip past the yellow swinging gate at the end of Windsor.

After a mile of easy pavement through scenic, shaded canyon, Fern Truck Trail splits to the right, a dirt doubletrack that is actually an overgrown fire road since the Station Fire of '09. And left is the Gabrielino Trail, leading into the heart of the mountain range.
