The top of Wolf begins at the intersection of Wolf Ridge and Timber Ridge Trail
. which connects to Reddish Knob, one of the most popular spots in the North River District of the GWNF. The upper section of Wolf Ridge trail contains tight high speed turns, complex drops, and exciting singletrack options. Shortly after the most difficult section of trail, one reaches the Lynn Trail
intersection. Wolf Ridge continues to the right. This section of trail is part of the Wolf Ridge Loop
which climbs Lynn and descends Wolf.
The trail continues in a series of ridge-top descents and steep rocky climbs through both smooth and rocky trail, with a few technical ascents as you follow the ridge. The final descent of this trail is fast and rocky to start, and changes over to the SVBC reroute that turns the last couple miles into a mountain pump track with fast and flowy singletrack, berms and a number of grade reversals that serve as both drops and jumps. There are a few rock gardens too before the trail drops you off onto Tillman Rd.
