Overview

This is a ride to the top of Johns Mountain. It's about a 9 mile trip with a lot of climbing on FS road to a great overlook! The ride is a combination of gravel forest service roads, paved road, and doubletrack.

From the Pilcher's Pond parking lot, you'll ride on a gravel Forest Service road for a mile to the pond. As you ride past the pond, the trail is a relatively smooth doubletrack with some loose rocks.
Features: -none-

Description

Start from Pilchers Pond and ride some of the Pinhoti trail East of Pocket Road. From Pocket Road, you'll ride the Forest Service road to top of Johns Mountain. At the top is an observation deck to view Taylor Ridge and East Armuchee Valley.

There are two hiking-only trailheads at the top. Both trails take you to Keown Falls. Usually the falls is just a trickle, but it's still a neat place to leave the bike and take a short hike.
