Typical desert scenery with the exception of on "forested" area that is unique to the rest of the trail. You are bound to see other mountain bikers out there, and occasionally horseback riders.

Need to Know

There is water in the park. Look for the spigot by the picnic tables.

This is a fun out and back section on the AZ trail. This ride is 100% singletrack. The ride starts off with a flowy section to Collosal Cave Mountain Park. Just follow the singletrack. After this is gets a little more technical, but nothing too bad. There are sections where you have to go up and over rocks and find your correct line.

Follow the trail out of the park up and over some rocky parts. The trail will pop out at a road. Take a sharp right and look for the trail 50' down the road on the left. Travel through the only "wooded" section on the trail. Follow the twists and turns and be ready for the grind up to what some call Castle Lookout Hill. Some choose this as a turnaround point, just over 6 miles into the ride.

To continue to three bridges go downhill for another 3 miles. Hang out in the shade for a bit and return the way you came. When you are getting close to the cars, about a quarter mile, there is a trail split off to the left where there are sometimes trucks and horse trailers parked. Continue on the trail to the right.

Watch your speed as you can get going fast here and there are a couple tight corners where you could find yourself wresting with some unfriendly cactus.

This trail is very technical for the first 5 miles. Should be rated blue/black to black. Not much fun for the average rider. Wouldn’t do again!

Lots of imbedded rock. First 4 miles northbound a blue/black.

One of the few chances for real shade on this ride. Just past the camp ground. Nice
