Like all of the trails in LNSP, this loop reverses direction every year. Watch the signs at the beginning of each loop.

Description

Probably the easiest ad most well-travelled loop in Lake Norman State Park, Hawk Loop can be used to access both Hicks Creek Loop and Norwood Loop.

Hawk's Loop is in good shape. Many bikes and dog walkers out today, averaged around 56-60 degrees. Took Norwood loop off Hawk's loop, also good shape. 3mi — 0h 40m

This is what my Garmin Edge 500 registered. There is always a discrepancy between GPS and rotation registering devices. For a GPS, curves are made geometric segments and for rotation devices it registers longer because of hills. Oct 8, 2013
