Dogs Leashed
Need to Know
Jackson Rd Trailhead is best trailhead. The horse trailer parking area at the South end is just uneven grass and not very big. I wouldn't recommend parking there.
There are no trashcans or restrooms along route. Pack out trash and either hold your poo or be prepared to bury it.
Shared with horses. Horses have right-of-way. Be familiar with proper safety etiquette before passing/going around horses.
Cycling on trails in Clark State Forest requires ORC (Off-Road Cycling) permit per rider. You can get permits from the Forest office in Henryville or Deam Lake SRA gate. Single or annual permits available (annual is only good through end of calendar year).
Description
This section serves as a connection between the more challenging trails, Lake Vista to the South and
Mountain Grove Loop to the North. It's made up of small sections of the Tree Lane Loop and Cross Country horse trails. No other sections of those horse trails allow bikes.
The South end, where Lake Vista Connector meets, is easy to miss. Pass by the fork for Three Hills Trail (green/orange blazes, junction 7). Shortly after, there should be a trail side marker with a blue blaze and no biking, got passed this marker another 100yds or so. Be looking for a small 1ft tall cairn (pile of stones) on the left-hand side. There is no formal sign for the connector trail, which is a narrow singletrack trail and has a large tree blocking it only about 6 feet down the trail. Biking is not permitted beyond the cairn alongthe Tree Lane Loop trail.
The surface is a mix of some pavement, some gravel, and some cinder track. It's not very hilly, and not technical.
