Need to Know

The trail is fairly well signed. The trails leading to it, not so much. A map or GPS will be helpful.

Description

The Peoria map of the preserve is here:
peoriaaz.gov/home/showpubli…

This trail is a loop with 2 cherry-stems exiting it. A third connection is at the north end of the loop. It is all pretty easy trail that is not too sandy.

Starting at the Sonoran Mountain Ranch Park, the trail exits the circular shaped concrete area with a ring of benches. There are 2 or 3 different trails exiting this ring, all unsigned. Choose wisely. (It is the one on the right.) This is the first, or eastern, cherry-stem.

After a short distance the trail connects to the loop and can be ridden either direction. Going clockwise the trail passes the second (western) cherry-stem and continues north. At the junction with the Burro Range Trail, the loop begins to return to the south until returning to the loop entrance.

The second cherry-stem exits to the west to connect to the New River Trail.
