Berry Creek trail is short and tough. It's great in either direction. In general, you'll climb if you start from the Mt. Hough/Tollgate trails. Very. Steep. Climb. Watch out for motorcycles as well.

You'll then emerge from the canopy surrounded by chaparral and views. The singletrack can be very skinny, but never too close to the edge.

Descending (heading generally northward towards the bottom of Mt. Hough trail) can be very tricky - steep and loose. But so, so fun. Lower the seat, and your speed if you need to, and go for it.
