Description

This trail is definitely a climb if you start at the bottom (entrance in Kernville). It's a 20-ish mile out-and-back that goes from Kernville to Cannell Meadow in the mountains above Kernville. It's highly trafficked. One of the wonders of this trail, besides the endorphins from climbing it, are the views. Once you get 5 miles in, you can see the whole Kern River valley and then some. But it will cost you energy. I've only gone 5 miles in on this trail starting from Kernville so far, and that's about a 3000-foot elevation gain.
