Once you start on the off-road section, it's just climbing for the next 5 miles until you reach the awesome peak called Hagas Lanchu. The view is amazing as you can see Cocos Island and the waters of Merizo.

This is private property. The land owners are cool, but you need to ask permission and give advanced notice. They hunt wild pig and deer up there so be aware of that.

The first four miles are on pavement on the road that leads to Talofofo Falls. About a 100 yards from the gate for the landfill, you'll hike your bike across the opening in the barbed wire fence. From here on out it's all Jeep trail until about mile 5 where there is a chain across a red dirt passage way. Hike over that and then continue on until you reach the peak a couple miles later.

Enjoy the views here and take lots of photos. The fun begins on the way back as it is all downhill. Careful, as depending on how many Jeeps have come through, the doubletrack may be overgrown with hidden ditches underneath.

Bring lots of hydration, snacks, and the requisite tools and supplies for flats and minor adjustments. Spin on the pavement on the way back to cool down.

The landfill is a relatively new development there. This area has been used for off-road vehicle activity and mountain biking for quite some time.
